I flicked on the TV last night as I crawled into bed, and one of those reality shows was on. This one was called The Ultimate Fighter. Not something I usually would watch, but where I came into this show, caught my attention. Here are two highly trained Mixed Martial Arts fighters. This is what they have dedicated their lives to as a career. Climbing into a ring and using their training to basically beat their competition into submission.
In a 2 round match, the judges had called a Draw for these obviously, equally matched contenders. They ordered a third round, to make a decision on a winner. Though equally matched, and each had won a round, when the third round was called one of the contenders simply GAVE UP!!!
He simply said he had enough, and refused to get up out of his corner!!! Of course the other man then won by default.
Here was a man who trained every day for this opportunity. The opportunity to prove that he was the best. The opportunity to prove that he had what it takes to succeed in his chosen profession. Yet all it took was a couple of good shots to the chin to leave him broken, and shaken, setting in a corner, giving up on his dreams.
You think his Coach maybe needed to spend a little more time with this guy on the MENTAL aspect of the game?
Do YOU spend time focusing on YOUR mental game plan? Is YOUR mental game leading you unknowingly down the path to failure in your Network Marketing Recruiting?
When you are talking to your prospects, are you simply following a script? What will you do when that prospect slips in an uppercut, when your “script” says they are supposed to throw a Jab? Are you going to be ready for it with the right answer? Are you ready to “shake it off” and come right back to the game? Or you simply going to throw in the towel, and set there crying about how that lead just did not know what they were looking for.
Blame is the easy game. The easy way to failure.
