Internet Marketing??? Go Get a REAL Job!!!

If you are entering into Internet Marketing for the first time, the one guarantee you have, is that you will encounter resistance and negativity from those around you. At least for “awhile”. Your family and friends are not going to understand what you are doing. Most peoples initial reaction to something they do not understand is a negative response.

You will also encounter the negativity from those who do not really WANT to see you succeed. They sense that you are onto big things, yet they lack the ambition or the courage themselves to persue it. Your success is a threat to their own personal veil that they hide behind, making excuses as to why they cannot get anywhere.

Rise above it. Do not focus on it. Acknowledge it for what it is, then move on with your plan in spite of it. This is the path to your dreams. To success in your life.

Low and No Cost Marketing Strategies

Not all Marketing Strategies require a fistful of dollars.

Face it, we’ve all been there at one time or another. “Newbieville”. We all had to start somewhere. With today’s sky high unemployment rates, first time marketers are coming into the industry in droves. They all have 2 things in common. They have no money, and they have no idea how all this “stuff” works. They’ve bought into a program, and… Now What?

So what is the “BIG SECRET” to Internet Marketing?? Solid, consistent, well written advertising. Hey, it’s Marketing! What did you expect? If you look “marketing” up in the Webster’s Dictionary, it does not have one meaning for online, and one for offline. It’s all the same. You’ve got to get your message out to the masses.

So the first thing you need to do, is learn at least a little something about writing good copy. How is it formatted? What works best? What doesn’t work at all? Do a Google search on how to write Ad copy and you’ll find probably more info than you really need.

Here is Rule 1 for not going broke on Day 2. STAY AWAY FROM PPC!!! If you are new to Internet Marketing, you have no clue as to how this system really works, and it can get you very broke, very fast. This is an advanced form of marketing for you to look into later. After you’ve gotten the easy stuff down.

Your best bet for the beginner is going to be the use of Safelists, Solo Ads, and Traffic exchanges. These all require a lot of “sweat equity” to do. They take time to get them going, and producing. Your Ad copy plays a big part in how effective you will be. However they are cheap (from FREE to 30 or 40 bucks) and will produce traffic.

Once you have generated the traffic, it is then up to YOU to get that traffic to join your group, your system, or purchase your product. That is another subject for another post. Right now we are focusing on Advertising.

Other ways to generate traffic at low to no cost, is through Article Marketing, Writing Press Releases, making connections in Social Media sites. (Please note that this does NOT say ADVERTISE on Social Media sites). Create a blog such as this one, and provide quality information through research, and through experiences gained. Craigs List is another way to get traffic. Again, it is all in your ability to use your creativity and write Ad copy that makes people “want” to check out what you have. Creating a “desire” in them.

Once you have started a flow of traffic, and you have begun to see conversions in that traffic, that is the time to take the funds from those conversions, put it right back into your business, and begin creating an advertising budget. Then and only then should you begin looking into any type of PPC traffic.
I hope this gives you a little insight in how to start the ball rolling with little or no funds to start.

Use a Shotgun to Promote Your Opportunity!!!

I know, you’re thinking “Whoa! What’s This Crazy Guy Up To Here?” Don’t worry, I’m not suggesting or endorsing the threat of physical harm to your prospects! Money doesn’t spend too well in Jail, LOL.

The point that I want to get across is this, When you are “aiming” at your Target Audience with your promotion, you want to HIT that target with the same effect as a shotgun.

You want to simply pepper the heck out of that target. You don’t want to be laser aiming and firing off single shots from a rifle, over and over at the same target. You may be the greatest laser focused shot in the world, but in the end, you are only hitting a very small percentage of the overall target. You want to hit the WHOLE target!!! The middle, the edges, to the left, to the right, up and down. That is the difference. We’re NOT trying to hit the “Bulls-eye” a couple of times. We simply want to hit the overall target with one good covering shot. Our whole Target is the BULLS-EYE.

You will not get results by repeatedly sending out one or two ads over and over and over again. Especially if you are only “aiming” them at one point of submission. ( I see a LOT of people making this mistake with Social Media) Let’s look at Solo ads for instance You’ve got one ad, you send it out, and maybe you get a lead or two from it. So you try it again, same ad, same submission source. Ok, maybe you get a few more hits.

But what if you had 5 ads? And instead of simply sending all of them to just one submission source, you send all of them to 5 submission sources. Now you’ve just hit the target 25 times instead of once. Now instead of getting that 1 or 2 hits, you’ve gotten 25 or 50. What is that going to do for your business? How fast is that going to grow your list?

Writing your own ads, your own “Copy” is an essential skill in this business. It takes time to acquire it. It is an essential skill in the fact that you have to generate different messages in order to promote your business. Some will work better than others. You chunk the bad ones, and try to improve on the good ones. This is called split testing. Trying out different ads for the same resource to see which performs better.

The ideal places for using this method of marketing is Solo Ads/ Ezines, Classified Ads, Safelists, Banner Ad Exchanges, Traffic Exchanges, to name a few.

Places where this is NOT going to work are Social Media sites. Folks on the Social sites view this as SPAM, and will simply delete you from their circle very quickly.

So get out there, Grab Your Shotgun, and start peppering your Target with ads. And until next time…
