Sweat Equity
Sweat Equity. Sounds like work doesn’t it? I was listening to a recorded teleseminar today hosted by Terry Telford, interviewing Mike Filsaime. Towards the end of the call, one of the listeners asked if the means and methods to be found in the program being marketed at the end of the show were free and required only Sweat Equity. Those two words caught my ear and really got the wheels turning.
If your idea of Internet Marketing is pushing a button, and suddenly money rolls out of your mailbox, then I have a bridge in Antarctica I’d like to sell you. Or you can just send your money to me, and I’ll be glad to tell you that you didn’t win the lottory either.
The fact of the matter is you have to grow your business. You have to plant the seed, keep it fertalized and watered, prune it and pull up weeds, then harvest the bounty AFTER you have done the hard sweaty work.There is no EASY button like you see on TV. If you embrace this fact, and diligently work at building your business, you have a good chance at success. There is terrific money to be made in Internet Marketing, but it simply is not made without effort. If you sit around, surf the net and search for the “easy” way, I can promise you that you will lose money, be disappointed, and you will give up in a short amount of time.
If you have it in your mind that you want to have your own business, no boss, no timeclock to punch, and you have the determination to commit to a plan, stick to it through thick and thin, take the good days and the bad days, yet continually push to achieve your dream, then you are a person who will succeed in this industry. There are tons of opinions, and strategies out there as to what is the best method of developing an online business. I’m not going to get into a debate as to who or what is better than the other here. The most important thing is to find what is comfortable to you, learn everything you can possibly learn about it, then use every tool that is available to you to refine your knowledge, promote your product, and above all give value to your customer.
The best tool that you can possibly use for Internet Marketing promotion, is YOU!!! Don’t be out there doing the hard sell, pushing your product under the nose of everybody you encounter. Do you like it when people do that to you? I bet the answer was NO! Why would you think this would work with other people? They are no different than you. Go out there and get to know people. Go to chat rooms and forums. Find out about people there. Get to know them, and be patient. Offer your help wherever you can. Write some articles. Start a Blog like this one. Become one of the “Go To” people at the social networking sites. Once people know you, and trust you, they will more than likley end up doing business with you.
Once people know you are a person of knowledge and integrity, they will seek you out. There is a program out there created by Mike Dillard called Magnetic Sponsoring that gives tons of information on how to get people to hunt you down to buy from you. Your wasted days of cold calling, buying useless lead lists, and bugging your family and friends will be over once you master the art of Attraction Marketing.
