Hi everyone!

I hope you have had an empowered week this week.

So far we have covered

• 1) Purchasing a Domain Name
• 2) Signing up with a Web Host
• 3) Setting up WordPress
• 4) Installing a Theme on WordPress
• 5) Autoresponders

Today, we’re going to wrap this up with Steps 6 and 7

• 6) Start Blogging
• 7) Submitting It To The World

Now that all the technical stuff is behind you, it’s time to start having some fun. Time for Step 6. Time to start blogging. Time to get your message out to the world.

“ Alright!! I got this for sale, and that for sale, and you might want to join this
Program, and Oh yeah, I flea dipped my cat today as soon as I got back from
Carpooling the Kids to School”

Whoa, Whoa, Whoa!!! Nobody wants to hear all that!!! Nobody wants pushy sales shoved in their faces, and this is supposed to be about business, so leave the daily family life stories for your personal blog. What you want here is good, quality, interesting CONTENT. You want something that is going to catch peoples interest, and make them want to read on, and come back for more over and over again.

Where to get this Content? Tons of places. You just went through this step by step process setting up your own blog, right? Well, there is something to write about. Write your own personal experience doing this. It will help someone else, and they will come back for more.

Use articles and blogs that others have written. A word of warning here!!! IF YOU USE CONTENT WRITTEN BY OTHERS, LET THAT PERSON KNOW ABOUT IT, GIVE THEM CREDIT FOR IT IN THE POST, AND LINK THE POST BACK TO THEIR SITE!!! If you simply cut and paste someone else’s writing, and do not do what was just written, you are guilty of Plagiarism, and possible copyright infringement. Nobody wants a lawsuit on their hands, do they?

Now, there is nothing wrong with reading someone else’s article, and then writing an article based on the same topic. As long as it is in your own words. You may put a different spin on it, or, you may simply be a better writer, and able to convey the message better. One great place to read articles to get ideas, and even to use if done as above, is EzineArticles.com. I’ve recently begun writing my own articles and submitting them there. Type in my name, and they will come up.

Another great topic is Reviews. Did you attend a Webinar recently? Right a review on it and let your peers know what you found out, and what your thoughts are on it. Did you just start using a new service of some sort, or a new marketing tool? Write a review on it. This is the kind of good quality content that people are looking for. If you offer this kind of information, on a regular basis, people will sign up to receive your updates, and then guess what?? You just started building a LIST !!! And that my friend is the Holy Grail of Internet Marketing. The all important, lifeblood of your business, LIST.

We’ll leave that for another whole topic of discussion. Now let’s get on to the Final Step. Step 7. Getting your blog out thereto the world, and getting NOTICED. Just because you created this great blog, and are writing all sorts of great and interesting things on it, doesn’t mean that anybody knows about it. There are millions of blogs out there. How many of them do you personally know about? How did you find out about them? Sometimes, you found them by doing a search on something, and it came up in the search results. Those are called Organic Search Hits, and you want them!!!

They are not that easy to get though. They take time, and they take effort. For now, I will simply tell you that as a first step, click on this Google link, and it will take you to Google Webmaster Tools. Sign Up, Sign In, and follow the instructions. This will help you to get your site indexed on Google as quickly as can be expected. Like I said, It takes time and effort, but if you follow Google’s guidelines and recommendations, their search engine will start to like your site, and start showing it in those Organic Searches.

And the next place to send it out to? Social Networking sites. Send a Tweet to your Twitter followers that you’ve updated your blog. Don’t be pushy, just offer it for their information. Write it on The Wall in Facebook so that your community friends know about it. The same with MySpace. Put a note on the Bulletin Board about your update.

The bottom line is to get it out there in front of people so that they know it is there. Never push, never holler, never blast it repeatedly, simply offer it up, and those that are interested will check it out. If they are not, well you aren’t going to be able to convert everyone. Just the facts of life. Live it and move on.

I really hope that this series has given you some good information on how to take those first confusing steps towards Internet Marketing. Please feel free to contact me, or simply leave a comment on the post. I love hearing from all of you.
